National Service Scheme

 
 

 

The institute has a registered N.S.S –Unit (100 Volunteers) operating under CUSAT –NSS Cell and this gives students a chance to engage in social service projects. The main aim of the scheme is to provide opportunities to the teachers and students to gain valuable practical experience through community service.

The objectives of NSS are
• To gain skills in the exercise of democratic leadership.
• To engage creative and constructive social action
• To enhance knowledge of oneself and the community through a confrontation with reality
• To work with and among people

Recent NSS Activities

2009-'10

CITV-NSS unit successfully organized 2 one-day camp at the college campus. NSS also conducted a seven day camp at PONMERIPARAMB, AYANCHERY Gramapanchayth for the construction of Ponmeriparamb-Kacheriparamb LP school road of length 1 KM. NSS opened a Blood donors forum at college campus.

2010-'11

CITV-NSS unit successfully organized 2 one-day camp at the college campus. The main purpose of these camps were cleaning the campus, planting of BAMBOO trees and removal of plastic waste items under MAP(Mass Action against Plastic waste) program. NSS also conducted a seven day camp at CIT VATAKARA. The volunteers cleared the boundary of 27 Acre campus at a width of 1.5 meters for the purpose of surveying the campus. A talk was conducted on the subject PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT by the Psychologist Dr. SURESH BABU.
