Co-operative Institute of Technology,
Vatakara (CITV), is the first College established by the Co-operative
Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), Thiruvananthapuram, an
undertaking of the Government of Kerala, started functioning in June
1999. The college offers B-Tech courses in the following six
Engineering streams with a sanctioned strength of 60 students in each
branch per year.

The College is affiliated to the Cochin
University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
The institution is under the category
of self-financing college, where admission to Free and Payment seats are
fully from the rank list of candidates in the common entrance
examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations,
Govt. of Kerala. Allotment to NRI seats are also done by the
Commissioner.
In the years since the inception in
1999, it has built a reputation of disciplined lecture classes leading
to excellent results; its students excel academically as also in
co-curricular activities. The Institution is equipped with Computer,
Electronics and Instrumentation laboratories and housed with a good
Library to meet the requirements of the students.
