Admission to the Institution is restricted through the
Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance
Examinations , Kerala. All seats are filled up based on merit; however,
50% of total seats carries lower fees on par with those of Government Colleges
and remaining 50% seats at rates fixed for unaided colleges in the state.
In addition to the above upto a maximum of 10% of seats are
filled up through Lateral Entry Scheme in the second year of the 4 year degree
program from candidates holding Diploma in Engineering based on an entrance test
conducted for the purpose by the Govt. of Kerala.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
(a) Candidates who have passed higher secondary
examination, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50
%marks in mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and
mathematics put together are eligible for admission
(b) Candidates who have a diploma in Engineering awarded by the board of
Technical Examinations or an Examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the
state board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of
at least 3 years securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final diploma
Examination are eligible for admission.
Note:

The vocational Higher Secondary examination, Kerala, has
been recognised as Equivalent to the higher secondary Examination, Kerala.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from
outside the State of Kerala (Except the AISSCE/ISCE) shall produce the
certificate of recognition and equivalency of the qualification, from any one of
the Universities in Kerala.

Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward
classes with a total annual family income not exceeding Rs 2.5 Lakhs will have
relaxation of 5%marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in
the case of Mathematics and 45 % marks in the case of optional subjects put
together. The relaxation in marks in the qualifying examinations extended to
SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates even if they are
allotted against the un-availed seats of SC/ST quota

The scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes candidates need only a
pass in the qualifying examination.

Persons with disabilities (Physically Handicapped candidates)
applying against the seats reserved for them need only a pass in the qualifying
examination.
B.TECH DEGREE COURSE-LATERAL
ENTRY SCHEME
Candidates who have a diploma
in Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Examinations or an
Examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the state board of Technical
Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years securing
a minimum of 60% marks in the diploma Examination are eligible for admission.
(i) Candidates belonging to
Socially and Educationally Backward classes with a total annual family income
not exceeding Rs 2.5 Lakhs will have relaxation of 5%marks in the qualifying
examination.
(ii) The scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes candidates
need only a pass in the qualifying examination.
(iii) Upper age limit -28 years |
