ATTENDANCE AND
LEAVE REGULATIONS
Students are expected to attend all classes without
fail. If for unavoidable reasons, leave of absence is required,
permission from competent authority should be sought as given here
under.
(i) Applications for leave should be
submitted the group tutor concerned. The Heads of Departments will be
the sanctioning authority.
(ii) Students may apply to the Heads of
departments through the group tutor for leave on medical grounds,
within 10 working days after returning from leave. A medical
certificate should invariably be attached with the application. The
students should keep records of medical leave sanctioned. In the event
of a student falling to short of attendance at the end of the
semester, condonation of shortage of attendance will be recommended,
if he produces records to show that leave has been granted in time.
(iii) Students are eligible for duty
leave. Duty leave can be recommended by the faculty members who are
authorized to do so. Duty leave should submit in a prescribed format.
Duty leave application should be submitted
to the Principal preferably before the duty is performed. The records
of duty leave sanctioned should be shown to the respective staff
members and got it entered in the attendance register. This must be
done immediately after availing the leave. the record of
Duty leave sanctioned should be handed over to the
group tutor for records.
The duty leave is limited to a maximum of 10
% of the number of working days in a semester.
The Students who fail to earn at least 75%
attendance in a semester will not qualify to appear for End-semester
University examination

REGULATIONS
Examination and Attendance
1. There shall be University examinations at the
end of the first academic year and at the end of every semester from
third semester onwards in subjects as prescribed under the respective
scheme of examination. Every candidate shall register for the
examination. A candidate who does not register for the examination
shall not be permitted to attend the next semester.
1. A candidate will be permitted to appear for
the University examination only if he/she satisfies the following
requirements:
(a) Should secure not less than 75 %
attendance in the number of working
hours during the first year and in each
semester thereafter
(b) Should earn a progress certificate from
he principal for having
satisfactorily completed the course of
study prescribed in the semester
as required by these regulations
(c) His/Her conduct must be satisfactory.
3.It shall be open to the Vice Chancellor to grant
the condonation of shortage of attendance on the recommendation of the
Principal in accordance with the following norms
(a) The shortage shall not be more than 5 %
(b) Shortage shall not be condoned more than twice
during the entire period of the course.
4. A candidate who is not eligible for condonation
of attendance shall repeat the course.
MINIMUM FOR A PASS
A candidate, who secures not less
than 45 % marks in subject at the University examinations and not less
than 50 % of the total marks assigned to the subject which include the
marks assigned to the University exam and sessional assessment, shall
be declared to have passed the examination in the subject.
For all labs from combined I & II
semester to semester VII, 50 marks is earmarked for continuous
evaluation and 50 marks for end semester examination. A candidate
shall secure a minimum of 50% marks separately for the two components
to be eligible for a pass in that subject
Those who have completed the SIX
years after the commencement of the course are not eligible for
registering University Examinations.
SEMESTER PROMOTION
The promotion from one semester to the
next semester shall be subjected to the condition that the candidates
to be promoted to the nth semester should have secured a pass in all
papers up to the (n -3) semester
